Huawei Mate 60 Pro+: New Features & Satellite Calls Announced!

Huawei, one of the biggest smartphone companies, just showed off its newest top-of-the-line phone, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro+. After the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro were well-received, this new addition claims to improve the user experience with its improved features.

Performance and Storage

The Mate 60 Pro+ is a monster. It is based on the Mate 60 Pro, but its parts are up to the max. Huawei doesn’t say much about the chipset that runs the Mate series, but rumours say it’s the Chinese-made 7nm Kirin 9000s. The Pro+ model has a huge 16GB of RAM, a big jump from the Pro model’s 12GB. Users can choose between 512GB or 1TB of storage on the phone’s inside, which can be expanded using Huawei’s NM card format.

Like the Pro model, the smartphone has a 6.82″ LTPO OLED screen. But with a resolution of 1,260 x 2,720px, the screen on the Pro+ is clearer. This 10-bit panel has a speed rate of anywhere from 1Hz to 120Hz and can sample touches at 300Hz. High-frequency PWM dimming at 1,440Hz makes it easier to change the lighting. Also, the second-generation Kunlun glass makes sure the device is durable. It can stay underwater for up to 30 minutes at a 6m/20ft depth.

Camera System

The Pro+ has a powerful camera system that photographers will like. On the front of the phone, there are three holes. One is for the 13MP selfie camera, and the other is for the 3D ToF system. The setting for the camera on the back is just as good. The main module has a 48MP camera and an OIS-enabled lens with an aperture that can change from f/1.4 to f/4.0. A 48MP periscope lens and an improved 40MP ultra-wide sensor add to this.

Battery and Charging

A powerful 5,000mAh battery runs the Mate 60 Pro+. Charging options are flexible and can do wired charging (88W) and wireless charging (50W). The device also lets you charge other devices wirelessly with 20W of power.

Connectivity and Unique Features

The Mate 60 Pro+ has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 built in. It also has an IR gun and works with NFC. This type stands out because it can make voice calls over the Tiantong satellite and send and receive text messages on the BeiDou network.

Availability and Pricing

The Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ will be available for purchase on October 9. The exact price is still a secret, but buyers can put down a CNY 1,000 deposit to reserve a gadget. The smartphone will be available in two colours – black and cream.
